The Chiriac family visited the Diaspora Relations Bureau

Elena and Iurie Chiriac, members of the Moldovan community in Benidorm, Spain visited the Diaspora Relations Bureau together with their two sons Andrian and Gabi.

We were happy to welcome these wonderful people, temporarily back home, and to speak them about the BRD's activity. In particular, Elena and her husband were interested in the opportunities of the Program „DAR 1+3”, managing to talk beforehand with the local mayor's office, since the application to participate in the Program must be submitted by APL.

Another topic addressed during the dialogue concerned the „Diaspora Engagement Hub” Program, being relevant for the elder son of the Chiriac family, Andrian, who is an economics student in Hamburg and in the future, he would like to accumulate interesting experiences, that will present it to the young people of the Republic of Moldova. At the same time, the BRD team suggested the young man to submit the participation file to the Gala of Students from the Republic of Moldova, organized by LSORM. We talked to Gabi about the possibility of enrolling in the Program Diaspora Origini Reveniri/DOR, for children and young people from the diaspora. He was pleasantly surprised by the opportunity to spend 10 days in the company of peers from different countries of the world, but who have the same interest in the Republic of Moldova.

We thank the members of the Chiriac family, for their willingness to visit the Diaspora Relations Bureau, for their openness towards the BRD Programs and, in particular, for the fact that they keep in their hearts the love of country and nation.

Guests from Athens visited BRD

Energetic and charismatic, willing to get involved, true ambassadors of our culture in Greece are the spouses Igor Sprincean and Diana Cecoi, who honored us with their presence at BRD.

In a friendly and relaxed environment, we discussed the activity of the folk dance group from Athens, "Dansul neamului", whose choreographer and director is Mr. I. Sprincean. We also talked about the cultural events they participate in, the gaps they encounter and possibilities for collaboration with BRD. We follow with love the performance of this collective in the diaspora and are proud of the beautiful results they achieve.

It is not easy, but we have convinced ourselves through countless examples that art and ancestral traditions represent an identity anchor for our compatriots in the diaspora, a fact that motivates them to voluntarily get involved in cultural actions, to take our fame to the world and promote our heritage immaterial.

During the discussions, the head of BRD, Nadejda Zubco recommended our guests to follow the activity of the office to apply to BRD programs, explaining to them the necessary steps for eligibility. At the same time, for a greater impact, they were suggested to get involved in strengthening the associations in Greece in order to carry out more common activities, to be organized with and for our compatriots abroad.

We wish success, inspiration to these young people full of ideas and, of course, we are always waiting for them at home!

„Guguță in Diaspora”, project implemented with the financial support of the DEH program

A great celebration was recently organized in the village of Trei Iezi. In a warm and friendly atmosphere, the children of our compatriots from Geneva had an imaginary journey in the world of tales, teleporting in time to meet the most beloved character - Guguță - the whole generations of children grew up with him.

A literary evening, which highlighted the work of the great writer Spiridon Vangheli, a pylon of children's literature, who this year celebrates the honorable age of 90 years, transformed the headquarters of the diplomatic mission into a village of celebration, where the memories have been debugged, and Cușma lui Guguță constituted a reading space, becoming overcrowded of children's smiles and giggles. To complete the festive atmosphere, the organizers also included a puppet show performed by the actress Snejana Rudenco. Also, our colleague Diana Cucoș was present online with a congratulatory message from the Bureau of  Diaspora Relations (BRD) addressed to the participants of the festivity.

The activity was realized in the project „Guguță in Diaspora”, initiated by the DIALOG Association from Switzerland, which obtained financial support within the thematic grants program Diaspora Engagement Hub, the sub-programme to support cultural and educational actions in the diaspora, implemented by BRD.

The team of the Diaspora Relations Bureau expresses its gratitude to the representatives of our diaspora in Switzerland, Inga Savin, Lidia Piaget, as well as to other people involved, for their wholehearted complicity in the realization of this project, the purpose of which was to encourage and promote reading in Romanian among children from the diaspora, to maintain their cultural and linguistic identity, as well as to familiarize them with the characters from the works of Vangheli: „Guguță and his friends”, „The feat of Guguță”, „The boy from the blue hut” etc.
