The Moldovan community from Benidorm, Spain participated at the event dedicated to Nationalities Day in Alfas del Pi

The celebratory atmosphere and good will dominated the event dedicated to the 15th edition of the Day of Nationalities, organized by the town hall of Alfas del Pi in Spain. Communities from more than 20 countries of the world displayed their folk costumes, elements of national culture and native dance, and our compatriots settled in the respective area were no exception in this regard.

Along with officials from the town hall, present at the official ceremony were Nadejda Zubco, head of the Diaspora Relations Bureau, His Excellency Eugen Revenco, Ambassador of the Republic of Molodova in the Kingdom of Spain and Valeriu Ostafii, Counselor at the Embassy.

Both the organizers of the Day of Nationalities and the officials from the Republic of Moldova admired the exceptional performance of our community, which was mobilized by Silvia Caciuc, the liaison person from our diaspora in Benidorm, for the Spanish authorities. With homesickness in their hearts, dressed in national shirts, from small to large, the Moldovans made a big noise on Spanish soil.

The visitors had the opportunity to enjoy the traditional dishes, seasoned with a glass of Moldovan wine, and the atmosphere was enlivened by the quality popular music of the Mold-Band group, also originating from Moldova.

Nadejda Zubco, the head of the Bureau, expressed her admiration and appreciation for the effort made by the members of the Moldovan community in Benidorm, in order to promote national values, offering a diploma of gratitude to the leader of the association, Silvia Caciuc, who at the end of the world maintains the love of the country lives, together with our compatriots, identifying time and resources, for meetings of the soul, far from home.

At the same time, the head of BRD communicated with several citizens of the Republic of Moldova, who came to the Day of Nationalities from different regions of Spain. Along the way, topics of general interest were addressed, for all members of the diaspora alike, but also important topics for each interlocutor in particular. In the same context, Nadejda Zubco visited the clinic of dermatologist esthetician Sergiu Vieru, who fulfilled his dream of practicing medicine in Spain.

An increased interest, for the members of the diaspora from Spain, present at the Day of Nationalities, aroused the programs of the Bureau of relations with the diaspora, about which they had the opportunity to find out more details from the first source.

The celebration was an opportunity for farewell and communication, it generated positive, but also nostalgic emotions for the compatriots who participated in the event.
