"Dolls of hope" - charity campaign of the Association "From the Heart of the United Diaspora" in Cantabria, Spain

„Through the game we will help children with oncological diseases from the Republic of Moldova to defeat the disease" - is now the motto of the members of the Association „From the Heart of the United Diaspora” from the province of Cantabria, Spain, who joined their efforts and launched the "Dolls of Hope" charity campaign.

Thanks to the generosity of our compatriots in Spain, but also of Spanish citizens, at the end of April a ray of light will be sent to the children admitted to the Pediatric Department at the IMSP Oncological Institute of Moldova, namely a batch of about 100 therapeutic dolls.

A study carried out at Hospital "La Paz" in Madrid demonstrated that hospital rooms can become bright spaces, where seriously ill children are treated more easily by playing. For several years, these vanilla-scented toys with bandannas on their heads have been helping little ones in Spain get through chemotherapy and becoming their forever friends.

"It's impressive how a simple toy can help a small patient beat the disease. We really want the little ones from Moldova to feel support and love. These dolls are created with lots of love. It's the little we can do to be with the most sensitive category of children from our country", mentioned the campaign organizers.

Those wishing to contribute and support this noble cause can find details, including contact details, on the Facebook page of the "From the Heart of the United Diaspora" Association.

A school for studying the Romanian language was opened in the city of Brescia

Recently, in the city of Brescia in Italy, the Romanian Language School was founded within the Social Promotion Association "Moldbrixia", president Lilia Bicec.

After the launch announcement, an impressive number of children from the diaspora between the ages of 5 and 15 signed up for the course. The first meeting in the school took place with the aim of establishing interpersonal relations, and in a short time a soul activity was organized in which both the children and their mothers participated. It's about an egg dyeing and dyeing workshop for the Easter holidays.

"The idea of opening a school to study the Romanian language in Brescia appeared in my mind many years ago, when I realized that our children only speak Italian. I was convinced of the fact that they need a course, a guide, a school, where they can cultivate their love for the language of their parents and grandparents, give it its true value and be proud when they speak Romanian. It took some time for that idea to mature, and this year we managed to achieve this goal", mentioned Lilia Bicec, the author of the project.

The lessons held in the Romanian Language School are welcome, because the children get used to conversing, and through the workshops they are given love for our secular traditions and customs.

The Diaspora Relations Bureau (BRD) has prepared a batch of books to give as a gift to the Romanian Language School in Brescia, „Învăţăm limba română împreună. Primii paşi. Manual pentru copiii din diasporă”, which will serve as a support in the teaching-learning process for both teachers and students. In this context, the BRD team sends congratulations, good wishes and, of course, good luck to the teachers, as well as to the parents and students of the school.
