Longing brought together the diaspora from Chicago in a new edition of the event named "Home for the Holidays"

Life away from loved ones is a real challenge for many compatriots who are settled abroad, especially for those from America, who return home less often due to the long distance. When they get the chance, they organize different activities to decrease their longing. The proof of this fact is the event called "Home for the Holidays", held recently in Chicago.

Around the winter holidays, our compatriots from USA, together with their families and friends, celebrated Christmas and the New Year, organizing a special artistic program of carols and greetings. Diaspora members also prepared and enjoyed various traditional dishes.

"The idea of organizing the event comes from the past, from my childhood when I used to go on holidays with my parents to the Circus, to the National Palace and I remember the feeling that everything was so beautiful at home. Nothing compares to the dream from childhood, to the fire in the hearth and the noise of the haters at the gate", said the organizer of the event, Liliana Bunici. Liliana wanted to convey this feeling from the past to the children of the diaspora and those who have not stepped on the land for many years, offering them the chance through the "Home for the Holidays" event, to enjoy the customs and traditions of our nation and feel at home.
