The winners of the "DAR 1 + 3" Diaspora Home Succeed Program, 2022 edition, participated to the first information session

The representatives of the local public authorities designated winners in the Diaspora Acasă Succeed Program “DAR 1 + 3”, 2022 edition, participated to the first informative meeting organized in online format, on May 5th. At the meeting, the mayors were informed about the specifics of the program, shared the experience of other projects carried out in previous editions and were trained in key areas related to the implementation of the winning initiatives.


In her welcome speach, Nadejda Zubco, Head of the Diaspora Relations Bureau, congratulated and thanked the representatives of the LPAs and their teams for their interest in the program, for their involvement in local development projects, but also for ambitious initiatives and ingenious ideas. to be implemented. The BRD chief also expressed her admiration for the courage and desire of the participants to change things in their hometowns, with the support of the Government, with the help of the native associations, with the involvement of compatriots established abroad.


Dorin Toma, manager of the “Migration and Local Development” project, UNDP Moldova, referred to the importance of community participation in local development, including the contribution of indigenous associations and citizens of the Republic of Moldova everywhere. "Every local development project is meant to motivate the community to get even more involved in improving people's lives, including returning home to the diaspora and starting small businesses in their hometown," said Dorin Toma.


Diana Cucoș, Senior Consultant at the Diaspora Relations Office, presented the winning projects of the 2022 edition, Home Diaspora Success Program “DAR 1 + 3”, mentioning several success stories of the Program from previous editions and appreciating the openness of LPAs, strengthening teams with a noble goal - to contribute to the prosperity of the country.


The mayor of Sireți village in Straseni district, Leonid Boaghi, shared his experience in the program and the results obtained, stating that the "DAR 1 + 3" projects contribute to the development of the community. Sireți City Hall received non-reimbursable funding during the first two editions of the program.


Another important and useful aspect for the participants was presented by Oxana Maciuca, UNDP expert on migration and development, who referred to crowdfunding and the involvement of the diaspora in local development projects.


Also during the meeting, the representatives of the LPAs learned details about the technical feasibility of the projects, from UNDP Moldova experts. It also addressed the issue of how to finance the Government's contribution, as well as details related to the record and control of allocated funds - consultations and guidance being provided by Lilia Taban, Deputy Head of Public Investment in the Ministry of Finance.


In the near future, other information sessions will be organized in support of the implementation of the winning projects within the Diaspora Home Succeed "DAR 1 + 3" Program, where other relevant issues of common interest to participants will be discussed.
